::CHARITY:: HIT HOMELESSNESS FOR A SIX! Iowa Cricket For Charity

Our first annual "Hit Homelessness for a Six" charity game was played on August 9th 2003. The Knights Cricket Club, decided to conduct this annual affair as a way of giving something back to the community. KCC teamed up with the West Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department, to raise money for the West Des Moines Human Services Department. We are proud to say that a total of $1600.00 was raised through the efforts of each and every player of the Knights and the great people who work at the Parks and Rec and Human Services departments. The format of this game was a team comprised of local celebrities, as well as well wishers of the Knights took on the Knights in a 10 over free for all. This event was covered by Fox 17 and WoiTV Channel 5 (who also participated in this game).
It was a resounding success, with a few local businesses contributing towads the raffle prizes. We hope to do a lot better in 2004. This year, the game is slated for August 22nd.
